About

This blog is essentially about, all things personal. When life gives me time and I have a need to share. Something overwhelming or simply interesting that takes away the weight of the world; be it for a single fraction of a second, or for several moments. I’ll put it on this blog for the world wide web. My faith “Islam” and my country “Pakistan” will be the major contributing factors. Also sometimes my art practice “Fine Art Photography” will find its way in here as well.

My hometown the restless and beautiful where one finds in the comfort the uncomfortable… apna Karachi the city of lights plus noise, pollution, garbage, gutters, politicians and unmentioned several others … the strange city realities comes with its own balm … growing up here while developing the senses to survive the concrete jungle, like a suburban animal who loves and knows his territory. The sound of azan to remind you … were you are? And were you belong? With a rush of usual smells … I say to myself

“I am home and nothing else matters”.

May He be Praised, the Lord Almighty Allah – the Eternal, Everlasting, Living God! And Peace be upon His Prophets and Messengers, His elect and chosen servant, spiritual guides and benefactors of mankind, and Blessings and Allah’s Mercy upon their undying souls! Amain, Amin, Amin. Wa min Allah at-Taufiq

Yek zamaneh ba sohbat i awliya
behtar ast az sad hazaar saal e ta`at i bay-riya

A moment in the company of the Saints of Allah
Is better than a thousand years of sincere worship!

~ Hz. Mawlana Jalal-ad-Din Muhammad Rumi (r.a)

A Prayer …  May God have mercy on those who lead the way
and those who come behind and those who fulfill their vows,
and those who seek to fulfill them, with His Grace and bounty, His great benefits and favors!
For He is the best object of petition and the noblest object of hope;
and God is the best protector and the most merciful
of those who show mercy, and the best of friends and the best of heirs
and the best replacer of what has been consumed
and provider for those devoted who sow
and till the soil of good works.
And God bless Muhammad (p.b.u.h) and all the Prophets and Messengers!
Ameem, O Lord of created beings!

~ Hz. Mawlana Jalal-ad-Din Muhammad Rumi (r.a)

The deliciousness of milk and honey is the reflection of the pure heart:
from that heart the sweetness of every sweet thing is derived.
The heart is the substance, and the world the accident:
how should the heart’s shadow be the object of the heart’s desire?
Is that pure heart the heart that is enamored of riches or power,
or is submissive to this black earth and water of the body,
or to vain fancies it worships in the darkness for the sake of fame?
The heart is nothing but the Sea of Light:
is the heart the place of vision of God–and then blind?

~ Hz. Mawlana Jalal-ad-Din Muhammad Rumi (r.a)  [III, 2265-9]
